FPV racing

FPV flying – or First Person View means that pilots see what a drone sees. This can be achieved by live streaming images from a camera built on the front of the drone. The image is transmitted via radio waves (usually 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz frequency) to the goggles the pilot wears. The remote control, drone and goggles are connected by radio and have to transmit with sufficient speed and reliability to allow effective control. The technology is constantly shifting, so we can expect that FPV flying is going to continue developing and improving.

What is the goal of the project?

The popularity of FPV flying is skyrocketing and in Pilsen, we have a large community of people who are flying with small racing drones. That’s why we decided to join forces and make the most of our city’s FPV arena. It offers great networked space for racing – it is also connected to the part of the building that can be flown through with mini drones.

Our goal is to draw the attention of all pilots to the possibilities where to fly in Pilsen, information about the drones themselves and what it means to fly a drone. The result is racing from which you get dizzy how fast they are. But above all, it is a great show that can motivate new pilots and thus expand the FPV flying community not only in Pilsen.

Do you have a small pilot at home? There is nothing easier than to enroll him in the Centrum robotiky, where teachers let him learn how to build a racing drone by himself and then fly with it.
