Robotic dog SPOT
SPOT from Boston Dynamics is the new member of SIT Port family. This robot has been on sale since 2019 and there are only a few of them in the Czech Republic.
The robot is designed for both indoor and outdoor activities, can walk up and down stairs, and can be adapted for industrial inspections as well as entertainment applications. Yes, he can dance too!
Spot is typically remotely controlled by a human operator, but it can move and perform some basic tasks independently. Its perceptual sensors include stereo and depth cameras, inertial measurement units, and position/force sensors in its four stable legs. For detailed inspections, it is supplemented with a camera with the ability to rotate, tilt and zoom.
The SPOT dog will serve to introduce students and pupils to new technologies. They will be able to program the spot themselves and complete various challenges.
